The Bar Association of India today organised 8th Lala Amar Chand Sood Memorial Lecture on Role of Constitutional Courts in Protecting the Environment in the HP High Court Auditorium complex. Hon’ble Justice Deepak Gupta of Supreme Court of India spoke at length about burning environment issues in the country and need for sustainable development for a healthy planet for future generations. Hon’ble Justice Uday U Lalit of the Supreme Court talked at length of the role of Public Interest Litigation s in environment protection and biodiversity. Also about the CNG buses and auto-rickshaws judgment by the Supreme Court to save Delhi from toxic air. Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhry of HP High Court spoke about Lala Amar Chand Sood’s humanism and his contribution towards society. Among those who spoke on the occasion included Bar Association of India chief Prashant Kumar, Senior lawyer Kapil Dev Sood, Advocate General of HP Ashok Sharma, High Court Bar Association chief Rajiv Jiwan, Bar Council of HP chief Ramakant Sharma.
